MO HAT MO GHEANSAÍ / HARRY & ALFIE / HANNAH GRACE and SPECIAL GUEST
Mo Hat Mo Gheansaí, which consists of brothers Tadhg & Oisín from Wicklow have been making waves on the Irish music scene with their unique brand of alternative folk music, as gaeilge (and as béarla). Playing and writing their own songs, the multi instrumentalists have shared the stage with Kíla, Liam Ó Maonlaí, Aslan and more have played at recent festivals including Electric Picnic and Oireachtas na Gaeilge.Close friends of Tadhg & Oisín, Harry and Alfie have built up an impressive following through youtube with nearly 2 million views since they began in 2008. Their aptitude for song-writing and performing is far beyond their years and they are currently recording their long awaited debut album in Deanstreet Studios, London.
A native of Wales, Hannah Grace is no stranger to performing. Hannah recorded her first studio EP at the tender age of 13 and since then she has continued to wow audiences wherever she performs, from festivals in Ireland and the UK, to supporting X-factors Lloyd Daniels. With a voice comparable on with Eva Cassidy or Joss Stone, Hannah is a true performer and one to keep an eye on in the future!
These four distinct artists are all close friends and will be performing a selection of their own music in a variety of combinations and collaborations!

NOEL HILL Concertina BRIAN McGRATH Piano & Banjo & AISLING HILL Fiddle & Concertina
NOEL HILL comes from County Clare on the west coast of Ireland, where the concertina tradition is so strong the instruments was nicknamed "the Clareman's Trumpet". Noel Hill has taken the humble concertina from the house dances of County Clare on the west coast of Ireland to stages throughout the world. The concertina, like Irish music itself, is currently enjoying a tremendous increase in popularity, and Noel Hill is at the forefront of this movement, not only as an awe-inspiring performer but as teacher and a well respected authority on Ireland's music. Noel makes the music new not through experimentation in other genres, but through consummate exploration and illumination from within traditional Irish music
BRIAN McGRATH comes from Brookeborough, Co. Fermanagh, an area steeped in traditional music. He started playing piano at age five and later progressed to the accordian and then banjo and mandolin. Brian’s first work in the professional field was with the group Dervish as banjo and mandolinist. He then joined Four Men And A Dog and played on the award winning album Barking Mad, featuring again on banjo and mandolin. He then moved his career on with some accompaniment work with Noel Hill, Paul Brock, Frankie Gavin, to name but a few, before joining the Sean Keane Band as pianist. After seven successfull years with Sean, Brian joined the super group De Dannan where he stayed till the band eventually broke up in 2003. Brian now plays with the Band At The Racket, and is a very much sought after session musician on piano, banjo and mandolin.
AISLING HILL is the daughter of Noel Hill, and has clearly taken after her Dad in her passion for music. Aisling plays fiddle, concertina, whistle, uilleann pipes and she is also a sean nós dancer and sings with her choir in school. Aisling first came to public notice when she played with her Dad at the Wille Clancy Summer School's main concert in 2009. She has since performed with her Dad on radio and television including TG4's Gradam Ceoil awards at Wexford Opera House.

26th November 2011 8pm Garland sing Sea Shanties
The singing performance presented by Garland on Sat 26th Nov was truly exceptional !! Over two hours of powerful sea shanties interspersed with traditional songs kept the FULL HOUSE present engaged for the entire evening.
A shanty is a type of work song that was once commonly sung to accompany labor on board large merchant sailing vessels. Shanties became ubiquitous in the 19th century era of the wind-driven packet and clipper ships.
Garland are a Dublin-based a capella group formed in 1970. Forty years later, they are still enthralling audiences with their exquisite four part harmonies.
Their repertoire includes many songs of love, labour and lust, but they have always had a special 'grá' for sea shanties. Where better to perform these songs of the sea than on our magnificent tall ship. We are looking forward to welcoming them on board.
Garland took their name from a Waterson album, 'A Yorkshire Garland' , which was brought back from England by Michael Andrews who was working through his summer holidays and was attracted to the close earthy harmony singing. The album was played and replayed until the harmonies could be identified and from this they subsequently developed their initial material. Garland are Pat Sheridan, Denis Ryan, Michael Andrews and Paul Noyes.
